The board approved the buyback on September 29, 2026. Under the proposal, TCI will purchase up to 15,62,500 shares through the tender offer route at Rs 960 per equity share.

The buyback price represents a premium to the company’s prevailing market price.

The final entitlement and participation will depend on the applicable buyback terms and eligibility on the record date.

 Record Date and Shareholder Eligibility

The buyback will be available to eligible equity shareholders or beneficial owners whose names appear as shareholders as on the record date.

The record date is therefore an important date for investors looking to participate in the offer.

The company’s board approval specifies the number of shares and buyback price, while shareholders will need to follow the formal process and applicable terms announced by the company.

What the Rs 150 Crore Buyback Means

A share buyback allows a company to repurchase its own shares from eligible shareholders.

In this case, TCI plans to buy back shares worth up to Rs 150 crore, subject to the approved terms.

The proposed repurchase could reduce the number of outstanding shares if completed in full.

The company has also approved other corporate plans alongside the buyback, including the establishment of a wholly owned subsidiary in China as part of its international expansion.
