Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Chandigarh on July 17 to inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for several major infrastructure projects.
To ensure smooth traffic movement during the Prime Minister’s convoy, the Chandigarh Traffic Police has issued a traffic advisory.
Several routes will face restrictions and diversions during the VVIP movement.
Commuters have been advised to avoid certain roads and use alternate routes until 3 PM on July 17 to prevent traffic jams and delays.
Traffic Restrictions on Chandigarh-Nayagaon Route
According to the traffic advisory, restrictions and diversions will be implemented on the route from:
Chandigarh-Nayagaon Barrier
PEC Light Point
Sector 2/3/10-11 Chowk
The police have requested commuters to avoid this stretch during the Prime Minister’s movement.
People travelling in these areas are advised to plan their journey in advance and take alternative routes to avoid inconvenience.
Alternate Routes and Parking Guidelines
The Chandigarh Traffic Police has warned that traffic restrictions may also be imposed on other roads depending on the movement of the Prime Minister’s convoy.
Commuters have been advised to:
Use alternate routes wherever possible

Avoid unnecessary travel on restricted routes
Guests, officials, and invitees attending the events have been instructed to park only at designated parking locations.

PM Modi’s Full Schedule on July 17
The Prime Minister will have a packed schedule across Haryana, Chandigarh, and Punjab.
11:00 AM:
PM Modi will arrive in Haryana and flag off India’s first hydrogen-powered train between Jind and Sonipat.
11:30 AM:
He will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for development projects worth around Rs 14,700 crore at Eklavya Stadium, Jind, and address a public gathering.
1:45 PM:
PM Modi will reach Chandigarh to inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for projects worth more than Rs 6,600 crore.
Later in the day:
The Prime Minister will visit Jalandhar, Punjab, where he will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for development projects worth over Rs 5,470 crore.
