Unified Payments Interface (UPI) has made money transfers incredibly easy, whether it’s for everyday shopping or paying street vendors.
It has become widely used across many countries, with India seeing a massive adoption.
Recently, HDFC Bank, the largest private bank in India, issued an important notice regarding UPI services.
Scheduled Maintenance on 8th February 2025
HDFC Bank has informed its customers that UPI services will be unavailable on 8th February 2025 due to system maintenance.
The downtime will occur from 12:00 AM to 3:00 AM. During this time, HDFC Bank customers will not be able to send or receive money using UPI.
This also includes transactions made with a RuPay Credit Card.
Both financial and non-financial UPI transactions through HDFC Bank’s current and savings accounts will be affected.
What is UPI?
UPI (Unified Payments Interface) is a simple and convenient digital payment system that allows users to send money directly from their mobile phones.
To use UPI, you need a supported app like Paytm, PhonePe, Bhim, or GooglePay.
The main advantage of UPI is that it allows you to transfer money by knowing someone’s mobile number, UPI ID, or by scanning their QR code.
Additionally, UPI payments can be made using the UPI 123Pay button, which works even on feature phones.
