Swiggy launches 10-Minute Delivery Service in 6 Cities

The rivalry between Swiggy and Zomato in the food delivery market has been going on for years.

zomato was the first to launch its IPO and, with a significant rise in its stock, has surged ahead of Swiggy.

However, Swiggy is now making big moves. It has announced plans to launch its own major IPO soon and is making several important decisions before that.

Recently, Swiggy’s Instamart introduced 24-hour delivery in three cities in Delhi-NCR.

Now, Swiggy has also announced on Friday that it will deliver food in just 10 minutes through a service called Swiggy Bolt, which has already been launched in 6 cities.

Swiggy’s Strategy in the Quick Commerce Sector

This 10-minute delivery strategy has been successful in the Quick Commerce industry, where Swiggy

and Zomato are again the main competitors. Swiggy is pushing its Quick Commerce efforts with Instamart, while Zomato is competing with Blinkit.

Swiggy Bolt allows customers to order items like burgers, tea, coffee, cold drinks, breakfast, and biryani—meals that are quick to prepare.

Currently, Swiggy Bolt is available in Hyderabad, Mumbai, Delhi, Pune, Chennai, and Bangalore, with plans to expand to more cities soon.

10-Minute Delivery Rules

Swiggy has also included ice cream, sweets, and snacks in the 10-minute delivery service. However, customers need to order from restaurants within a 2 km radius.

Swiggy’s CEO, Rohit Kapoor, said that delivery partners won’t receive any incentives or penalties for Bolt and regular orders.

According to Kapoor, Swiggy has already reduced delivery time to 30 minutes and now aims to bring it down to just 10 minutes.
