Railways Extends Bihar Special Trains ahead of Festive Season

Indian Railways has announced good news for passengers traveling from Bihar. To manage the heavy rush of passengers

and improve travel convenience, the Railways has increased the frequency of five pairs of special trains originating from Bihar.

These special trains will run for extended periods between July and November 2026. The decision is expected to make it easier for passengers to get confirmed tickets, especially during peak travel and festive seasons.

Raxaul-Mumbai Special Train to Run More Frequently

Passengers traveling from Bihar to Mumbai and other parts of Maharashtra will benefit from the extended operation of the Raxaul-Lokmanya Tilak Terminal Special train.

Train No. 05558 (Raxaul-Lokmanya Tilak-Raxaul Special) will now depart from Raxaul every Tuesday until July 28, 2026. The return service from Lokmanya Tilak Terminal will operate every Thursday until July 30, 2026.

The train will stop at major stations including Sitamarhi, Muzaffarpur, Hajipur, Patliputra, and Deen Dayal Upadhyay Junction, making travel easier for passengers across Bihar.

Several Patna Special Trains Also Get Extension

Indian Railways has also extended the operation period of several important special trains running from Patna to different parts of the country.

Patna-Charlapalli-Patna Special (03253/03254/03255):
This train will continue operating until the end of July. It will depart from Patna every Monday and Wednesday, while services from Charlapalli will run every Wednesday and Friday.

Patna-Khordha Road Junction-Patna Special (03230/03229):
Passengers traveling to Odisha can use this train until the end of July. It will leave Patna every Thursday and return from Khordha Road every Friday.

Patna-Howrah-Patna Special (02024/02023):
This special train for West Bengal passengers has been extended until September 27, 2026. It will continue operating every Sunday.

Sogaria-Dhanbad Special Extended Till November

Keeping in mind the upcoming festive season, including Chhath Puja and Diwali, Indian Railways has given the longest extension to the Sogaria-Dhanbad-Sogaria Special train.

Train numbers 09821 and 09822 will now operate from July 16 to November 28, 2026. The train will depart from Sogaria every Thursday and from Dhanbad every Saturday.

With these additional services, Indian Railways aims to provide smoother travel, reduce ticket waiting lists, and help passengers reach their destinations comfortably during the busy travel season.
