The cost of Nandini milk in Karnataka is set to rise by Rs 3 per liter. This increase will come into effect from August 1.
The decision was made during a meeting between officials from the Karnataka Milk Federation (KMF) and Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.
Benefit for Farmers
This price hike will directly benefit the farmers. They will now receive an additional Rs 3 per liter of milk they supply.
The reason behind this decision is that farmers were choosing to sell their milk to private dairies instead of KMF.
Influence of Private Companies
Private companies have been offering higher prices compared to KMF, leading farmers to prefer selling their milk to them.
To address this issue, KMF has decided to purchase milk from farmers at the increased rate of Rs 3 per liter.
Plan for the Future
These new prices will be applicable starting from August 1. The price increase will be across all types of milk sold through KMF.
The decision aims to provide a better income for farmers through this step.
