Post Office Ria Money Transfer facility has been launched at the Mallital Head Post Office in Nainital. The service will help people receive money sent by family members and relatives living abroad through their nearby post office.

The facility is expected to benefit families in Nainital and surrounding areas who regularly receive remittances from overseas. According to postal officials, the process has been designed to be simple and quick.

Post Office Ria Money Transfer Facility

Under the Ria Money Transfer service, people can collect remittances sent from abroad at the post office. India Post Payments Bank branch manager Devashish Joshi said the facility has been introduced to make receiving overseas money easier for beneficiaries.

The service provides an option for people who previously had to depend on private companies or Common Service Centres (CSCs) after some earlier remittance services were discontinued.

Up to ₹2 Lakh Can Be Withdrawn

According to officials, beneficiaries can withdraw up to ₹2 lakh free of charge under the facility. To receive the payment, the beneficiary needs to provide the required identification details.

The payment can be processed using Aadhaar and PAN card information, subject to the applicable requirements. This can make the process more convenient for people receiving money from relatives abroad.

What Documents Are Needed to Receive Money?

Beneficiaries need to carry the required identification information when visiting the post office to collect the remittance. Aadhaar and PAN card details are used for the payment process, according to officials.

People receiving money should provide the required documents and information at the post office so that their identity can be verified before the payment is made.

Why the Ria Money Transfer Service Is Useful

Earlier, post offices provided Western Union services for receiving money from abroad. After that facility was discontinued, many people started using private companies and CSCs, where additional charges and formalities could apply.

The new Ria facility gives residents another option to receive overseas remittances through their nearby post office. Officials said the process can be completed quickly once the recipient provides the required details.

The launch at Mallital Head Post Office is particularly useful for families in Nainital and nearby areas with relatives living abroad.

The post office already provides several postal and financial services, and the new facility adds another option for receiving money from overseas.
