Punjab National Bank (PNB), one of India’s leading public sector banks, has launched a new loan scheme called PNB Divyang Rin.

The scheme is designed to support Persons with Disabilities (PwDs) by offering affordable loans for housing and mobility needs.

This initiative aims to make banking more inclusive by helping eligible individuals access home and vehicle loans at concessional rates.

The scheme has been introduced in partnership with the National Divyangjan Finance and Development Corporation (NDFDC), which will also provide 100% refinance support.

What Is PNB Divyang Rin Scheme?

PNB Divyang Rin is a special financing scheme that offers financial assistance to eligible persons with disabilities for:

Buying or constructing a house

Renovating existing homes

Purchasing modified or standard vehicles

Under this scheme, borrowers can access home loans and vehicle loans at lower interest rates, making repayment more affordable and manageable.

Home loan up to Rs 50 lakh for purchase, construction, renovation, or composite housing

Vehicle loan up to Rs 50 lakh for modified four-wheelers

Vehicle loan up to Rs 1.5 lakh for two-wheelers

However, if a customer avails both home and vehicle loans, the maximum combined limit is capped at Rs 50 lakh.

Concessional interest rates starting from 5% per annum

Interest rate is not dependent on credit score (CIC score)

Why This Scheme Matters

By offering lower interest rates and simplified loan processes, the scheme aims to reduce financial barriers and improve access to essential needs like housing and mobility.

PNB officials also highlighted that the initiative reflects the bank’s commitment to socially responsible and inclusive banking practices.

A Step Toward Financial Inclusion

With schemes like Divyang Rin, banks are moving toward more inclusive lending models that support underserved communities.

For eligible applicants, this scheme can make it significantly easier to secure funding for both home ownership and personal mobility, improving quality of life and financial independence.
