New Scheme: Rs 10,000 Annually for 1 Crore Women in Odisha

The government has introduced the Subhadra Yojana scheme to support women.

This new initiative provides Rs 10,000 annually to women between the ages of 21 and 60.

The scheme aims to empower women and will be active for five years, from 2024 to 2029.

Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi announced the scheme, which will officially launch on September 17, the birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Benefits and Implementation

Under the Subhadra Yojana, over 1 crore women will receive Rs 10,000 each year in two installments of Rs 5,000.

The total amount provided over five years will be Rs 50,000.

The payments will be made on Rakshabandhan

and International Women’s Day. A budget of Rs 55,825 crore has been allocated for this scheme.

To manage the funds, money will be directly deposited into the Aadhaar-linked bank accounts of the beneficiaries.

Each woman will also receive a ‘Subhadra Debit Card.’

Additionally, 100 women with the highest number of digital transactions in each Gram Panchayat and urban body will receive an extra incentive of Rs 500.

Application and Eligibility

Women can obtain application forms for the scheme free of charge from Anganwadi centres, block offices, Mo-Seva centres, and Jan Seva Kendras.

A new ‘Subhadra Society’ will be established to oversee the scheme under the Women and Child Development Department.

This scheme is part of the BJP government’s election promises and aims to strengthen support among women in Odisha.

2) Government employees

3) Taxpayers

4) Women receiving Rs 1,500 or more per month from other government schemes
