Mother Dairy raises Milk Prices by Rs 2/Liter

Mother Dairy has followed Amul’s lead in raising milk prices, causing a Rs 2 per liter increase for customers in Delhi-NCR.

This change, effective from June 3, is attributed to rising costs over the past 15 months.

All types of milk have become more expensive starting from Monday, June 3, in Delhi-National Capital Region (NCR) and other markets.

The Amul brand had previously announced a Rs 2 per liter increase in milk prices on June 2.

Both major milk suppliers have raised milk prices shortly after the Lok Sabha elections’ voting process concluded.

The election results are set to be announced on June 4.

Mother Dairy stated that the price increase is primarily to offset rising production costs,

which have been escalating for over a year, and to compensate producers.

What will be the price of Mother Dairy milk in Delhi-NCR now?

In Delhi-NCR, Mother Dairy’s full cream milk will now cost Rs 68 per liter, while toned and double toned milk will be priced at Rs 56 and Rs 50 per liter, respectively.

Buffalo and cow milk will be available at Rs 72 and Rs 58 per liter, respectively. Token milk (bulk vended milk) will be sold for Rs 54 per liter.

How much milk does Mother Dairy sell every day?

Mother Dairy currently sells 35 lakh liters of fresh milk daily in Delhi-NCR. The company last adjusted its liquid milk prices in February 2023.

The company stated that despite paying higher prices for milk purchases in recent months, consumer prices have remained unchanged.

Additionally, extreme heat across the country is expected to further impact milk production.

Mother Dairy allocates 75-80% of its milk sales income to procurement, ensuring the continuity of dairy farming and availability of quality milk.

Amul milk new prices

The Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF), known for its ‘Amul’ brand, has increased milk prices by approximately Rs 2 per liter nationwide.

This price adjustment took effect from June 3rd. GCMMF mentioned that they haven’t raised milk prices since February 2023, attributing the recent increase to rising production and operational costs.

Following the recent increase, the price of 500 ml buffalo milk from Amul is now Rs 36,

Amul Gold milk is priced at Rs 33 for 500 ml, and Amul Shakti milk is Rs 30 for 500 ml.
