As November draws to a close, pensioners are reminded to submit their life certificates promptly, with only two days left to meet the deadline. Failure to do so may result in a pause in pension disbursement.

Importance of Life Certificate:

For retirees, pension serves as the backbone of their post-retirement life.

To ensure the continuous flow of this crucial income, pensioners aged between 60 and 80 must submit their life certificates annually. The deadline for the year 2023 is November 30, and time is running out.

Deadline Details:

Both senior citizens and super senior citizens share the same deadline, despite super seniors being allowed to submit their life certificates starting from October 1.

The window for senior citizens is open between November 1 and November 30. Super senior citizens are those aged 80 and above.

Consequences of Missing the Deadline:

Failing to submit the life certificate by November 30 will lead to a suspension of pension disbursement.

However, if the certificate is submitted by October 31 of the following year, the withheld pension funds will be resumed.

Submission Methods:

Pensioners have five convenient methods to submit their life certificates, including the Jeevan Praman Portal, Post Payment Bank, Face Authentication, the Signature of a Designated Officer, and Doorstep Banking.

Submitting from Home – Face Authentication:

1. Install the ‘AadhaarFaceRD’ or ‘Jeevan Pramaan Face App’ on your Android smartphone (with a 5MP or above camera).
2. Have your Aadhaar number ready.
3. Navigate to Operator Authentication and scan your face.
4. Input the necessary information.
5. Capture and upload your photo. A link to download your life certificate will be sent to your registered phone number.

Submitting through Doorstep Banking:

1. Schedule an appointment at the Jeevan Praman center or bank.
2. Provide your Aadhaar number and mobile number to the operator.
3. The operator will verify your ID using a biometric device.
4. Once verified, your life certificate will be ready for submission.
