Jio Discontinues Value Plans with Limited Data

The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) recently requested telecom companies to offer voice-only plans for users. These plans focus solely on voice calling and SMS, without including data.

Both Jio and Airtel introduced such plans, but Jio users have been surprised by the removal of three popular value plans that included limited data.

Changes in Jio’s Value Plans

Jio had previously offered three value plans with limited data. These were priced at Rs 189, Rs 479, and Rs 1899. However, these plans have now been discontinued.

The Rs 189 plan provided 2GB of data, unlimited calling, and 300 SMS for 28 days. The Rs 479 plan gave 6GB of data with unlimited calls and 1000 SMS for 84 days.

The Rs 1899 plan offered 24GB of data, unlimited calls, and 3600 SMS for 336 days, along with access to Jio apps like JioTV, JioCinema, and JioCloud. These plans are no longer available to users.

New Voice-Only Plans Without Data

Jio now offers two new voice-only plans priced at Rs 458 and Rs 1958.

The Rs 458 plan provides a validity of 84 days with 1000 SMS, while the Rs 1958 plan offers 365 days of validity with 3600 SMS.

Both plans include unlimited calling on all networks but do not provide any data. However, users still get access to Jio’s apps like JioTV, JioCinema, and JioCloud.
