Jio brings back its Rs 189 Plan under ‘Value’ Category: Check Benefits

Reliance Jio had removed the ‘Value’ category of prepaid plans entirely a few days ago.

However, the company has now reinstated it. In the ‘Value’ category, users can now access voice-only plans priced at Rs 448 and Rs 1748.

Jio has now introduced a new sub-category under the ‘Value’ category called ‘Affordable Packs.’ This sub-category includes a prepaid plan priced at Rs 189.

This plan is not new, as it was previously available. Before the tariff hike in July 2024, it was priced at Rs 155.

According to a report by TelecomTalk on January 30, 2025, Jio had removed the Rs 189 plan. However, the plan is now available once again.

Benefits of this plan

Reliance Jio’s Rs 189 prepaid plan offers a service validity of 28 days. It includes 2GB of data, unlimited voice calls, and 300 SMS.

Users also get subscriptions to JioCinema, JioTV, and JioCloud. After reaching the Fair Usage Policy (FUP) data limit, the speed is reduced to 64 Kbps.

Currently, Jio’s most affordable pack is the Rs 189 plan. Alternatively, customers can opt for the Rs 199 plan, which provides 18 days of service validity, 1.5GB of daily data, and 100 SMS per day.

While the Rs 199 plan offers more data, its validity is shorter than the Rs 189 plan. Neither plan includes unlimited 5G data.

It is currently unclear whether Reliance Jio will introduce any other value plan for 84 days, as Bharti Airtel is already offering one for Rs 548.

Recently, Indian telecom operators have made several changes to their prepaid plans.

The next few days may bring further changes in the offerings from Vodafone Idea (Vi) and Bharti Airtel.
