Both Reliance Jio and Bharti Airtel have introduced new voice-only recharge plans. These plans offer only calling and SMS services, without any data.
Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) had directed companies to offer these plans, which are aimed at users who prefer using WiFi or a second SIM for data.
Airtel’s Voice-Only Recharge Plans
Bharti Airtel offers two voice-only recharge plans:
Rs 499 Plan: Valid for 84 days with 900 SMS.
Rs 1959 Plan: Valid for 365 days with 3600 SMS.
These plans provide unlimited calls to all networks, free HelloTunes, and access to Apollo 24/7 Circle for three months. However, they do not include data.
Jio’s Voice-Only Recharge Plans
Reliance Jio also offers two voice-only recharge plans:
Rs 458 Plan: Valid for 84 days with 1000 SMS.
Rs 1958 Plan: Valid for 365 days with 3600 SMS.
Both plans include unlimited calls to all networks, along with access to Jio’s apps like JioTV, JioCinema, and JioCloud. Data is not included.
Comparison: Jio’s Plans Are Cheaper
When comparing the plans from Jio and Airtel, both offer similar benefits. However, Jio’s voice-only plans are more affordable:
Rs 458 Plan (84 days) is Rs 41 cheaper than Airtel’s Rs 499 plan, and Jio offers 100 extra SMS.
