Intense Heatwave predicted in Several North-Western States

Scorching heat is expected to affect the north-western parts of India starting today.

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a heatwave alert for the next 6 days in several states like Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, and Gujarat.

Temperatures in these regions may rise by 2 to 4 degrees Celsius. Delhi is also expected to face intense heat in the coming days.

According to the IMD, temperatures in Delhi on April 7 and 8 could reach as high as 40 to 42 degrees Celsius.

A heatwave alert has been issued for multiple states including Delhi. On Saturday, Delhi is expected to experience strong winds, with some areas likely to face heatwave conditions.

The maximum temperature during the day was around 39°C and the minimum was about 19°C.

Similar alerts have also been issued for Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, and Odisha.

Delhi to Witness Rising Temperatures Till April 10

The Regional Meteorological Center in New Delhi has forecast severe heat in the city from April 5 to April 8.

Today, April 5, 2025, the temperature is expected to range between 38 to 40°C during the day and 18 to 20°C at night.

By April 7, temperatures may rise further to 40 to 42°C during the day and 20 to 22°C at night.

On April 8, similar conditions will continue, with daytime temperatures between 40 to 42°C

and nighttime temperatures between 21 to 23°C. Hot winds will blow during the day, but nights will remain relatively cooler.

Looking ahead, on April 9 and 10, Delhi is expected to see maximum temperatures between 39 to 41°C.

Saurashtra and Kutch, South Haryana, Delhi, and West Uttar Pradesh: April 5–9

Himachal Pradesh: April 5–7

Punjab and Gujarat region: April 6–9

Western Rajasthan: April 5–10

Eastern Rajasthan: April 6–10

Western Madhya Pradesh: April 7–10

People living in these areas are advised to stay hydrated, avoid direct sunlight during peak hours, and take necessary precautions against the heat.
