A big update has come for travelers in NCR and Western Uttar Pradesh.
Flights for general passengers will finally start from Noida International Airport on June 15, 2026.
The first flight will be operated by IndiGo.
This marks the beginning of regular flight operations from this new greenfield airport.
This will make travel easier not just for Noida residents, but for people across the NCR region.
More Airlines and Cargo Services to Follow
After IndiGo starts operations, other airlines like Akasa Air and Air India Express are also expected to begin flights from this airport.
From June 15, both passenger and cargo services will start.
This will improve connectivity and boost business activities in the region.
Better transport links, including metro and expressways, will further support smooth travel to and from the airport.
Flights Planned to 17 Cities
Airport authorities have already completed most of the preparations.
Initially, flights are expected to operate to around 17 cities across India.
Ticket booking systems, ground handling, and other services are ready.
However, final approval from the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security is still pending.
Once this is cleared, full operations will begin without any issues.
Big Boost for Economy and Development
The airport is expected to play a major role in boosting Uttar Pradesh’s economy.
It will help increase trade, tourism, and investment.
The state is aiming to become a one trillion dollar economy, and this airport will support that goal.
Expansion Plans Already in Place
Plans are already being made to expand the airport.
In the next two years, around 25 new aircraft parking stands will be built at a cost of about ₹300 crore.
This will allow more flights to operate and increase capacity.
PM Modi Inaugurated the Airport
Narendra Modi inaugurated the airport on March 28 in Jewar, Gautam Buddha Nagar.
He praised the modern facilities and said the airport will improve connectivity, investment, and overall development.
He also mentioned that under the government’s UDAN scheme, many more airports and helipads will be developed in smaller cities across India.
What This Means for Travelers
The start of flights from Noida International Airport is a big relief for passengers.
It will reduce travel time, ease congestion at other airports, and offer more options for domestic and international travel.
