IndiGo Cancels 24 Ranchi Flights After Bad Weather, disrupting air travel at Birsa Munda Airport on September 25, with 12 arrivals and 12 departures affected.
The airline said the cancellations were caused by adverse weather conditions at Ranchi.
Passengers were advised to stay in touch with their respective airlines for updated flight information.
IndiGo Cancels 24 Ranchi Flights After Bad Weather
The cancelled services connected Ranchi with several major cities, including Kolkata, Pune, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Patna and Delhi.
The disruption involved 12 scheduled flight rotations.
Among the affected services were IndiGo flights on the Kolkata-Ranchi-Kolkata, Pune-Ranchi-Bengaluru, Hyderabad-Ranchi-Hyderabad and Mumbai-Ranchi-Mumbai routes.
Other cancelled services included flights operating between Ahmedabad, Ranchi and Patna, as well as Delhi-Ranchi-Delhi and Bengaluru-Ranchi-Pune routes.
Several Routes Affected by Cancellations
The cancellations meant passengers travelling to or from Ranchi on multiple domestic routes had to check their flight status before proceeding to the airport.
IndiGo advised passengers to remain in contact with the airline for the latest information regarding their affected flights.
Air India Express Flights Also Disrupted
The weather-related disruption at Ranchi also coincided with changes to Air India Express services. Its Bengaluru-Ranchi-Bengaluru flight was cancelled for operational reasons.
An Air India Express Delhi-Ranchi flight also arrived later than scheduled. Flight IX 1046 was due to reach Ranchi at 8:40 am but arrived at 9:56 am.
Its return flight, IX 1047, was scheduled to depart Ranchi for Delhi at 9:10 am but eventually left at 10:52 am.

Passengers travelling through Ranchi should verify their flight status directly with their airline before leaving for the airport, particularly when weather conditions may affect operations.
