Indian Railways to Run Special Trains for Jagannath Rath Yatra

To help devotees travel comfortably during Rath Yatra 2026, the East Coast Railway has announced special train services between Shalimar and Puri and Badampahar and Puri.

These special trains are being introduced to handle the expected rush of pilgrims visiting Jagannath Dham, Puri, during the festival.

The trains will run on selected dates and stop at several important stations along the way.

Shalimar–Puri Special Train: Dates and Timings

The Shalimar–Puri Special Train (No. 08565) will run on:

The return Puri–Shalimar Special Train will operate on:

Train Timings

Train No. 08565 will leave Shalimar at 6:00 PM and reach Puri at 6:00 AM the next day.

The return train will depart Puri at 12:30 AM and arrive at Shalimar at 1:30 PM.

East Coast Railway has also announced a special train between Badampahar and Puri for devotees travelling from Odisha and nearby regions.

Train No. 08569 will depart Badampahar at 9:00 AM and reach Puri at 10:04 PM on the same day.

The return train will leave Puri at 12:45 AM and arrive at Badampahar at 1:45 PM.

To manage the heavy passenger rush, East Coast Railway has introduced these special train services, giving pilgrims more travel options and making the journey to Puri more convenient.
