Big news for over 3 crore daily train passengers in India! Indian Railways will release a new timetable starting January 1, 2025.
The current timetable, the 44th edition of “Train at a Glance” (TAG), will remain in use until December 31, 2024.
Last year, Indian Railways launched the All India Railway Time Table – TAG, which became effective on October 1. This timetable is also available on the Indian Railways’ official website.
Plans for New Trains in 2025
In 2025, the Railway Ministry plans to roll out 136 Vande Bharat Express trains, 2 Amrit Bharat Express trains, and the Namo Bharat Rapid Rail (Vande Metro).
Last year, 64 Vande Bharat trains and 70 additional services were introduced to make travel more convenient.
Usually, the Railway Ministry publishes the TAG working schedule by June 30, with the new timetable effective from July 1. However, the schedule was revised this year.
Preparations for Maha Kumbh Mela 2025
Indian Railways is also gearing up for the Maha Kumbh Mela 2025. The Indian Railway Catering
and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) is arranging world-class facilities for lakhs of devotees attending the event.
Around 3,000 special Mela trains will be operated, and shelters for over 1 lakh passengers will be provided.
Online Booking for Maha Kumbh Gram Now Open
IRCTC has constructed a luxury tent city, Maha Kumbh Gram, near Triveni Sangam for the event.
Online bookings for staying at Maha Kumbh Gram are now open from January 10 to February 28.
