IMD Weather Update for 23 States warns of rain and thunderstorms across several parts of India on October 3, 2026.
The weather system is expected to affect areas including Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, West Bengal and several northeastern and southern states.
The monsoon has not completely withdrawn, and different weather systems are continuing to bring rain and thunderstorms in many regions. The India Meteorological Department has also warned of strong winds in some areas.
IMD Weather Update for 23 States
According to the weather forecast, thunderstorms are possible in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand.
Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Tripura, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka are also among the states facing a rain or thunderstorm alert.
Winds could reach speeds of up to 50 kmph during thunderstorms and rain in several affected areas.
Heavy Rain Warning in Northeast and South
The IMD has issued a warning of heavy rain in Arunachal Pradesh. An active circulation over Assam is also contributing to the unsettled weather conditions in parts of the Northeast.
In Tamil Nadu and Puducherry, thunderstorms are expected on Saturday, with winds potentially reaching up to 50 kmph.
A circulation near the southeast Arabian Sea and a trough line over the region are also influencing weather conditions in parts of South India.
Rain Alert in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar
Several districts of Uttar Pradesh may experience thunderstorms and rain on October 3. The alert covers areas including Kanpur, Prayagraj, Meerut, Mainpuri, Hardoi, Etah, Agra, Mathura, Bareilly and Kasganj.
Winds may reach 40 to 50 kmph during thunderstorms in these areas. Lucknow is expected to record a maximum temperature of around 34 degrees Celsius and a minimum of around 24 degrees Celsius.
In Bihar, heavy rain and thunderstorms are expected in districts including Bhagalpur, Katihar, Araria, Kishanganj, Samastipur, East Champaran, Munger, Purnia, Vaishali, Gaya and Jehanabad.
Winds may reach 45 to 50 kmph at several places. Patna is expected to see a maximum temperature of around 33 degrees Celsius and a minimum of around 24 degrees Celsius.
Weather in Jharkhand, Rajasthan and MP
Heavy rain is possible in Ranchi, Bokaro, Hazaribagh, Palamu, Simdega and Gumla in Jharkhand. Winds of 30 to 40 kmph may accompany the rain, while Ranchi could record temperatures of around 29 degrees Celsius during the day and 20 degrees Celsius at night.
Rajasthan may see rain and thunderstorms in areas including Udaipur, Bikaner, Kota, Ajmer, Bhilwara, Bharatpur, Bundi and Baran. Jaipur is expected to record a maximum temperature of around 36 degrees Celsius and a minimum of around 23 degrees Celsius.
Madhya Pradesh may also experience rain and thunderstorms in districts such as Indore, Dewas, Panna, Umaria, Guna, Katni, Neemuch, Morena, Chhindwara
and Ashok Nagar. Winds could reach up to 50 kmph, while Bhopal is expected to see temperatures of around 32 degrees Celsius and 21 degrees Celsius.
Delhi Weather on October 3
Delhi is expected to have generally clear weather on Saturday, although strong winds may occur in several areas. The maximum temperature is likely to remain between 33
and 35 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature may stay between 23 and 25 degrees Celsius.
Winds in parts of Delhi could reach speeds of up to 30 kmph. The overall weather conditions will therefore remain different across regions even as rain and thunderstorms affect several states.
The IMD weather update indicates that the situation is being influenced by multiple systems, including the monsoon trough, low-pressure area and circulation systems over different parts of the country.
