IMD Issues Rain and Storm Alert for 17 States

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a fresh weather alert for June 15, warning of heavy rain, thunderstorms, and strong winds across 17 states.

According to the forecast, wind speeds may reach 70 to 80 kmph in several regions. Such strong winds could uproot trees, damage weak structures, and disrupt daily life.

People have been advised to stay alert and avoid unnecessary travel during severe weather conditions.

The weather department has also warned of possible hailstorms in some areas.

A low-pressure system has formed over central Uttar Pradesh, while a cyclonic circulation is extending from western Rajasthan towards the Gangetic plains and West Bengal, increasing the chances of widespread rainfall.

The IMD has issued heavy rain and thunderstorm warnings for the following states:

Delhi Weather Forecast

Delhi is expected to receive rain and thunderstorms on June 15. Wind speeds may reach 50 to 60 kmph.

Uttar Pradesh Weather Forecast

Heavy rain and thunderstorm alerts have been issued for several districts, including Meerut, Noida, Muzaffarnagar, Mathura, Agra, Kanpur, Gorakhpur, Varanasi, Prayagraj, and Maharajganj.

Bihar Weather Forecast

Bihar is likely to experience heavy rain and strong storms between June 15 and 16.

Districts under alert include Patna, Gaya, Aurangabad, Muzaffarpur, Darbhanga, Madhubani, Purnia, Katihar, Kishanganj, Bhagalpur, and Munger.

Wind speeds may reach 65 to 70 kmph.

Jharkhand Weather Forecast

Heavy rain and storm warnings have been issued for Ranchi, Jamshedpur, Bokaro, Dhanbad, Hazaribagh, Dumka, Deoghar, and several other districts.

Wind speeds may touch 70 to 80 kmph.

A yellow alert has been issued for moderate to heavy rain in Alwar, Bharatpur, Ajmer, Jodhpur, Barmer, Churu, Sikar, and several other districts.

Madhya Pradesh

Heavy rain and storm alerts have been issued for Bhopal, Rajgarh, Dewas, Vidisha, Balaghat, Seoni, Khandwa, and other districts.

Assam

Heavy rain and thunderstorms are expected in Guwahati, Dibrugarh, Tinsukia, Kokrajhar, Barpeta, Jorhat, Hailakandi, and Goalpara.
