The government has introduced the Aadhaar Good Governance Portal to simplify the authentication request process. According to the Ministry of Electronics and
Information Technology (MEITY), this portal aims to make Aadhaar more user-friendly, improve access to services, and make daily life easier for citizens.
Boosting the Digital Economy
UIDAI CEO Bhuvnesh Kumar stated that Aadhaar is playing a key role in increasing the growth of the country’s digital economy.
The newly developed portal will make it easier for organizations to submit and get approval for proposals, following the prescribed rules.
Ensuring Reliable Transactions
Aadhaar is recognized as the world’s most trusted digital ID. Over the past decade, more than one billion Indians have used Aadhaar, and authentication has been performed over 100 billion times.
According to the ministry, the new portal will benefit both service providers and users by ensuring more secure and reliable transactions.
A Useful Resource for Authentication
This portal will act as a resource guide, providing clear Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for entities seeking Aadhaar authentication.
Private companies can also integrate face authentication into their apps, allowing for authentication anytime, anywhere.
As part of its commitment to making Aadhaar more citizen-friendly, the ministry has introduced new rules that allow non-government entities to use Aadhaar authentication.
With this amendment, Aadhaar holders can now enjoy hassle-free services across multiple sectors, including hospitality, healthcare, credit rating, e-commerce, education, and aggregator services.
