On Friday, the domestic stock market saw a significant decrease, leading to a loss of Rs 4.46 lakh crore in investors’ wealth.
The BSE Sensex fell by 885.60 points, or 1.08%, closing at 80,981.95. Out of the 30 Sensex stocks, 25 declined. This drop ended a five-day period of gains.
Out of 4,033 shares listed on the BSE, 2,311 fell, 1,616 rose, and 106 remained unchanged. Consequently, the total market capitalization of BSE-listed companies dropped to Rs 4,57,16,946.13 crore ($5.46 lakh crore).
The BSE Smallcap index decreased by 0.58%, and the Midcap index fell by 1.19%.
