The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has extended the deadline for free Aadhaar updates.
Initially set to end on 14 December 2024, the service will now be available until 14 June 2025.
UIDAI announced this extension through its Twitter handle, allowing Aadhaar cardholders to update their details online at no cost for the next six months.
Update Options: Online and Offline
The free update service is offered exclusively on the online myAadhaar portal. However, if you choose to update your details at an offline center, a specified fee will be charged.
UIDAI encourages everyone to take advantage of this facility to keep their Aadhaar information accurate, ensuring seamless access to government schemes and services.
Importance of Keeping Aadhaar Updated
Aadhaar is a vital identification tool linked to an individual’s biometric and demographic data.
It helps prevent fake or duplicate identities, ensuring that government benefits are delivered to the right individuals.
