Good news for millions of EPFO subscribers! The Centralized Pension Payment System (CPPS) has been fully implemented in all regional offices of the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) across India.
This significant change, completed by December 2024, ensures that the pension of about Rs 1570 crore has been distributed to over 68 lakh Employee Pension Scheme (EPS) pensioners.
Easy Access to Pension Across India
Union Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya stated that with this new system, pensioners will no longer face any issues when withdrawing their pensions from any bank branch across the country.
This means that EPFO pensioners can now withdraw their pensions from any regional EPFO office nationwide, thanks to the CPPS, which is now implemented in all 122 regional offices.
Advancing EPFO Services for Transparency and Convenience
Dr. Mandaviya also emphasized that the CPPS is part of the government’s efforts to modernize EPFO services, ensuring more transparency and convenience for pensioners.
The system was first tested in a pilot project in Jammu, Karnal, and Srinagar in October 2024, where Rs 11 crore was distributed to 49,000 pensioners.
Following the success of the initial pilot, a second phase was completed in 24 regional offices, distributing Rs 213 crore to over 9.3 lakh pensioners.
This development marks a major milestone in improving EPFO services and setting new standards in pension distribution across the country.
