EPFO Extends Deadline for UAN-Aadhaar Link to 15th February

The Employee Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) has extended the deadline for linking the Universal Account Number (UAN) and bank account with Aadhaar.

Employees and companies now have until 15th February to complete this task. The deadline has been extended several times, with the previous date being 15th January.

Why Linking UAN and Bank Account is Important

It is important for both employees and employers to link their UAN and bank accounts to Aadhaar before the new deadline. This is necessary to fully access the benefits of the EPFO scheme.

Failure to link by 15th February may cause delays in accessing online services like:

1) Managing the PF account

2) Viewing and downloading the passbook

3) Applying for withdrawals, advances, or transfers

To avoid disruption, employees must ensure their UAN is activated before the deadline.

The UAN is a 12-digit number that stays the same even if you change jobs, helping you transfer your PF account and complete EPFO tasks online.

How to Activate Your EPFO UAN

Follow these easy steps to activate your UAN:

1) Go to the EPFO website and choose the “Activate UAN” option.

2) Enter your UAN, mobile number, and date of birth.

3) Complete the captcha and click on “Get Authorization PIN.”

4) Enter the OTP sent to your mobile and verify it.

Once activated, you’ll receive a user ID and password to access EPFO online services.
