While driving, people often unintentionally violate traffic rules, which can result in hefty traffic fines.
When a challan (fine) is issued, a message is usually sent to the registered mobile number.
However, it’s not uncommon for people to miss these notifications and remain unaware that a fine has been issued against their vehicle.
If you’re wondering whether your vehicle has an outstanding challan, there’s an easy way to find out from the comfort of your home.
Three Ways to Check Your Traffic Challan
You can check if a traffic challan has been issued against your name using any of the following three methods:
- By Challan Number
- By Vehicle Number
- By Driving License (DL) Number
How to Check E-Challan Online
To check your traffic challan online, visit: https://echallan.parivahan.gov.in/index/accused-challan
Once you’re on the site, you’ll see all three options mentioned above. Choose whichever method is convenient for you to check the challan status.
Note:
To check the challan, you must use the mobile number registered with the RTO. When you enter your details and click submit, an OTP will be sent to your registered number.
Only after entering the OTP will you be able to view your challan details.
