Here’s how you can easily correct any discrepancies in your PAN card from the convenience of your home.
Online Correction Process:
- Visit the Income Tax Department Website: Head to https://www.incometaxindia.gov.in/.
- Navigate to PAN Card Services: Click on the “PAN Card Services” tab.
- Select Change/Correction: Under the options, choose “Change/Correction in PAN Card”.
- Choose Application Type: Opt for “Change or Correction in Existing PAN Data”.
- Enter PAN Number and Submit: Input your PAN number and click “Submit”.
- Fill Necessary Information: Provide the required details for correction.
- Upload Supporting Documents: Scan and upload your Aadhar Card or other valid IDs as Proof of ID and Proof of Address.
- Payment: Pay the application fee.
- Submit: Click “Submit” to complete the process.

Offline Correction Process:
- Download Application Form: Obtain the form for change/correction in PAN card from the Income Tax Department website.

- Submit: Hand in the application form along with documents at your nearest Income Tax Department office.

Online Application: Rs 85 (inclusive of 12.36% service tax)

Process for Name Correction:
Upon submission of your application, the Income Tax Department will review it. Upon approval, you’ll receive a receipt for a new PAN card. Expect delivery within 15 to 30 days from the date of application.
