These days, most people prefer to book their train tickets online. This has created a great opportunity to earn money by becoming a railway ticket booking agent.
To get started, you need to register with IRCTC (Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation).
Small Investment, Good Earnings
To become an IRCTC ticket agent, you’ll need to pay an annual fee ranging from ₹2,400 to ₹8,000. There are different plans available, such as the Basic Plan, Premium Plan, Direct IRCTC Agent, or Principal Service Provider.
As an agent, you earn a commission of ₹20 per ticket for non-AC bookings and ₹40 per ticket for AC bookings.
If you book between 101 to 300 tickets in a month, you’ll pay a charge of ₹8 per ticket. For more than 300 tickets, this charge is reduced to ₹5 per ticket.
In addition to the flat commission, you also get 1% of the total ticket amount as commission. There is no daily limit on the number of tickets you can book.
