Delhi Metro passengers may face inconvenience today as the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has temporarily closed 16 metro stations in central Delhi due to security concerns.

The decision has been taken amid increased security arrangements in the area following the ongoing protest at Jantar Mantar.

The temporary restrictions may affect thousands of daily commuters travelling towards important areas like Connaught Place, Janpath, and Central Secretariat.

16 Metro Stations Closed for Entry and Exit

According to DMRC, passengers will not be allowed to enter or exit from the following stations until further notice:

Lok Kalyan Marg

Rajiv Chowk

Patel Chowk

Ramakrishna Ashram Marg

Barakhambha Road

Supreme Court

Seva Teerth

Janpath

Mandi House

Central Secretariat

ITO

Delhi Gate

Indraprastha

Khan Market

Jor Bagh

Shivaji Stadium

DMRC has advised passengers to check official updates before starting their journey to avoid inconvenience.

Metro Trains Will Continue to Run Normally

Although entry and exit have been restricted at these stations, metro services on the affected routes are continuing as usual.

Trains will pass through these stations according to their regular schedule.

Passengers already travelling inside the metro can continue their journey, but they cannot get down or board trains at these closed stations.

Interchange Facility Available at Rajiv Chowk and Central Secretariat

DMRC has provided some relief for commuters using interchange routes.

The interchange facility at Rajiv Chowk and Central Secretariat metro stations will remain operational.

Passengers can continue changing metro lines at these stations, but entry from outside and exit to the streets will remain restricted until further orders.

Commuters travelling through central Delhi are advised to plan extra time for their journey and stay updated with DMRC announcements before leaving home.
