Chief Minister Rekha Gupta announced that the scheme has received approval from the cabinet and the application process will begin from August 1.
The first payment under this scheme is expected to be released on August 28, 2026, on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan.

The Delhi Laxmi Yojana has been introduced to provide financial assistance and support the empowerment of women in Delhi.
Under this scheme, eligible women will receive a monthly benefit of ₹2,500 directly from the government.

A budget of ₹5,100 crore was approved for the scheme last year.

How Can Women Apply for Delhi Laxmi Yojana?
The Delhi government will launch an online portal for applications.
Women who meet the eligibility criteria can apply through this portal starting August 1.
Applicants will need to provide their personal details and upload the required documents during the application process.
Who Is Eligible for This Scheme?
Women must meet certain conditions to receive benefits under the Delhi Laxmi Yojana.
The eligibility rules include:
The applicant’s family income should be less than ₹2.5 lakh per year.
The woman must be a permanent resident of Delhi for at least 10 years.
The applicant should not have any registered criminal cases.
Women fulfilling these conditions will be able to apply for the monthly financial assistance.
When Will the First ₹2,500 Payment Be Released?
According to Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, the application process will begin on August 1.
After verification of applications, the first installment of ₹2,500 will be transferred on August 28, which falls on Raksha Bandhan.
