Complete List of Long Weekends in 2025 from January to December

Every new year brings a fresh start, requiring various plans. You’ll need to figure out when your birthday or your loved one’s birthday falls, and when anniversaries are.

Based on these dates, you can plan celebrations or trips. To make these plans, you’ll also need to take time off. Here’s when you can expect long weekends in 2025, helping you plan ahead.

January

The second week of 2025 brings a long weekend starting on 11th January, Saturday.

It continues with Sunday, 12th January, followed by Lohri on 13th January and Makar Sankranti on 14th January.

If you leave work on the night of 10th January, you’ll be able to fully enjoy this extended break.

February

February 2025 may disappoint you as it will have 28 days, but there will be no holidays.

March

March will make up for February by offering two long weekends. The first one will begin on Thursday, March 13, with Holika Dahan, followed by Holi on Friday, March 14. The weekend continues with Saturday and Sunday, March 15-16.

The second long weekend will begin on Saturday, March 29. It will continue with a holiday on Sunday, March 30, and Eid ul Fitr on Monday, March 31. By taking leave on March 28, you can enjoy a 4-day holiday.

April

Summer begins in early April, making it an ideal time for travel, and the long weekend will enhance the experience. The first long weekend starts with Mahavir Jayanti on April 10.

To enjoy it fully, you’ll need to take leave on April 11, followed by the weekend on April 12-13 (Saturday-Sunday).

Another long weekend will occur in the third week of March, from April 18 to 20.

This includes the Good Friday holiday on April 18, followed by the Saturday-Sunday weekend on April 19-20.

May

You can plan a short weekend in May as well. The weekend will be from Saturday, May 10 to Sunday, May 11, and then you’ll have a holiday on Buddha Purnima, Monday, May 12.

June-July

Rain begins in June and July, but these two months will remain dry due to the long weekends.

August

In the third week of August, you’ll get a long weekend. August 15th is Friday, which is Independence Day, followed by Saturday, August 16th, and Sunday, August 17th.

September

In the first week of September, there is a long weekend. Eid and Onam will be on Friday, September 5, followed by the Saturday-Sunday weekend on September 6-7.

October

October also has several holidays. The first long weekend will be from October 1 to October 5.

You only need to take leave on Friday, October 3. Mahanavami will be on October 1, Dussehra on October 2, and then there’s the weekend on October 4-5.

The next long weekend will be from October 18 to October 20, during the Diwali holidays.

The third long weekend will be from October 23 to October 26. It starts on Thursday, October 23, with Bhai Dooj.

You can take leave on Friday, October 24, followed by the Saturday-Sunday weekend on October 25-26.

November

November will be a quiet month as there are no long weekends.

December

There is a possibility of a long weekend from December 25 to 28 for Christmas. However, to enjoy this, you’ll need to take leave on Friday, December 26.
