The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) recently seized thousands of substandard products from warehouses in Delhi, including electronic devices and home appliances.
Many of these products were either without the ISI mark or had fake ISI labels.

BIS Deputy Director Harmohanjit Singh Pasricha recommends using the BIS Care App to verify the authenticity of a product.
The app is available for download on both Google Play Store and Apple App Store.
Steps to Use BIS Care App:
Download and install the BIS Care App.
Enter the ISI number found on the product or its packaging.
If the product details appear in the app, the product is genuine.
If no details appear, the product may be fake or substandard.
Look for Amazon Fulfilled or Flipkart Assured Tags
When shopping online, always look for products that are labeled with Amazon Fulfilled or Flipkart Assured tags.
These tags indicate that the product has been verified and processed through the platform’s trusted fulfillment centers, reducing the chances of receiving counterfeit goods.
By following these steps, you can ensure that you are purchasing genuine products online and avoid falling for counterfeit items.
