The Kumbh Mela has begun in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, and will continue until February 26. Millions of devotees are expected to attend this grand event.
To accommodate the large crowd, numerous arrangements have been made within the fairgrounds.
As part of these efforts, the government-owned telecom company BSNL has introduced special services to help devotees stay connected with their loved ones.
BSNL is offering free calls, data, and SMS to all attendees of the fair. Here are the details of this initiative.
How Customers Will Get Free Data and Other Benefits
BSNL has announced the installation of 50 base transceiver stations (BTS) within the fair premises.
These BTS units connect mobile devices to the network, enabling people to access digital services.
As part of a special initiative for the Kumbh Mela, BSNL is offering free voice calls, data, and SMS services to devotees.
Additionally, individuals can sponsor these free services for Kumbh participants.
In return, BSNL will send SMS messages to fair attendees, displaying the names of the sponsors.
4 Sponsorship Options
BSNL has introduced four sponsorship options under this service. To sponsor free data, calls, and SMS for devotees in one BTS area, the cost is ₹10,000.
For sponsoring 5 BTS, the amount increases to ₹40,000, while 30 BTS sponsorship costs ₹90,000, and for 50 BTS, it is ₹2.5 lakh.
The company will then send SMS notifications to all individuals in the respective BTS areas, informing them about the sponsor.
This service allows devotees at the Kumbh Mela to use SMS, data, and calling facilities free of charge, enabling them to stay connected with their loved ones without any cost.
