Apple, the maker of iPhones, announced on Friday that it will open four new stores in India.
Currently, Apple has only two offline stores in the country—one in Delhi and the other in Mumbai. Both of these retail stores were opened just last year.
New Apple Stores in India
Apple is selling the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max, made in India, under the “Made in India” initiative at both of these stores.
After the launch of Apple’s new iPhone series, there was a large crowd of customers at these two retail stores in India.
Many people have visited Apple stores and purchased the new iPhone, which might be why Apple now plans to open more retail stores in India.
Speaking about this, Apple’s Senior Vice President of Retail, Deirdre O’Brien, said they are planning to open more new stores in the country.
The upcoming Apple retail stores will be located in Delhi-NCR, Mumbai, Pune, and Bangalore.
Production of iPhone 16 series in India
Apple has recently launched its latest iPhone series, the iPhone 16 Series. Four new iPhones have been introduced in this series: the iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max.
Apple has also begun producing these new iPhones in India, which will later be sold in the company’s retail stores.
Previously, Apple only manufactured its older models in the Indian factory. Now, the company has begun producing its new iPhone series in India as well.
Apple has teamed up with Foxconn, Pegatron, and Tata Electronics to manufacture iPhones in India.
Foxconn will produce all models, including the iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max.
Pegatron is responsible for making the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro, while Tata Electronics will produce the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus.
Notably, these Made-in-India iPhone models will be exported not only within India but also to international markets.
