Apple has introduced a new app called ‘Invites’ for iPhone users, designed to help them create and share personalized invitations with family and friends.
While the app is exclusive to iCloud+ subscribers for event creation, anyone—whether they have an Apple account or not—can RSVP to events.
Additionally, the app lets users join Apple Music playlists, RSVP to shared events, and contribute photos or videos to shared albums.
Key Details and Features of the Invites App
Not Announced at WWDC 2025
Apple did not mention this app during the iOS 18 feature announcements at WWDC 2025. However, its existence was hinted at in the code of the iOS 18.3 beta.
Now, the app has been officially rolled out worldwide and is available to all iPhone users running iOS 18 or later.
Features
Event Creation and Personalization: Users can create custom events by choosing images from their photo library or wallpaper gallery.
Apple’s AI technology helps create custom images through the Image Playground feature, while AI-powered writing tools allow users to personalize the text of invitations.
Event Management for Hosts: Hosts can share invitations via a link, track RSVP responses, and customize event details.
Guest Features: Guests can RSVP, decide what information to share with others, and report inappropriate events if necessary.
Additional Features
Shared Albums: Each invitation can have a dedicated shared album for photos and videos contributed by guests.
Apple Music Integration: Hosts can create event-specific playlists that guests can access directly within the app.
The app also builds on the benefits of iCloud+, which include features like Private Relay, Hide My Email, HomeKit Secure Video, and more storage options.
Access and Availability
The Apple Invites app is free to download from the App Store and can also be accessed at icloud.com/invites without an iCloud+ subscription.
It’s an excellent tool for iPhone users to plan events, send invitations, and interact with their guests, simplifying event management like never before.
