Air India has announced a major update for passengers travelling between India and Canada.
Starting August 1, the airline will operate non-stop flights between New Delhi and Toronto, eliminating the need for a fuel stop during the journey.
The airline will also increase the number of flights on this route, making travel faster and more convenient for passengers.
Journey Time to Reduce by Around 3 Hours
Due to the closure of Pakistani airspace, Air India had been using longer routes for flights to North America.
As a result, Delhi-Toronto flights required a fuel stop in Vienna, Austria, increasing the total travel time.
From August 1, Air India will deploy its new Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner on the route, allowing the flight to operate non-stop.
This change will reduce the travel time from around 20 hours to nearly 17 hours, saving passengers about three hours.
The return flight from Toronto to New Delhi will also continue as a non-stop service, with a journey time of around 16 hours.
Daily Flights Between Delhi and Toronto
Air India is not only making the route non-stop but is also increasing the flight frequency.
Currently, Delhi-Toronto flights operate five days a week.
From August 1, the service will become daily, giving passengers more flexibility while planning their trips.
The increase in flight frequency is expected to benefit both business and leisure travellers, as well as the large Indian community living in Canada.
New Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner to Serve the Route
The airline will use its modern Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft on the Delhi-Toronto route.
According to Air India CEO and Managing Director Campbell Wilson, the introduction of the new aircraft is an important milestone for the airline.
He said the Boeing 787-9 will offer passengers a more comfortable travel experience while significantly reducing travel time between India and Canada.
With daily non-stop flights and shorter journey times, Air India’s latest move is expected to make travel between Delhi and Toronto faster, smoother, and more convenient than before.
