With just hours remaining before the deadline, taxpayers are scrambling to file their GST returns amidst technical difficulties.
The filing deadline, originally set for April 10, 2024, has been extended to April 12 due to widespread issues faced by taxpayers attempting to submit their returns.
Deadline Extension Due to Technical Problems:
Taxpayers encountered significant hurdles while attempting to file their GST returns, attributing the challenges to technical glitches within the system.
Consequently, the GST return filing deadline was prolonged to April 12 to alleviate the strain on taxpayers and provide them with adequate time to fulfill their obligations.
GSTR-1 Filing Extension:
In response to the mounting challenges faced by taxpayers, the GST Network (GSTN) announced an extension for filing GSTR-1 returns until April 12.

The decision was prompted by the sluggish performance of the GSTN portal, impeding taxpayers’ ability to complete their filings promptly.
Last Opportunity for Filing:
As the revised deadline approaches, taxpayers are reminded that today marks the final opportunity to file their GST returns.
Despite the initial deadline of April 10, taxpayers can still submit their returns until the end of the extended period on April 12, 2024.
