LPG Price Update: New Year brings relief as Commercial Cylinder Prices Drop

New Delhi:

On the first month of the new year, oil companies have announced a partial reduction in the prices of 19 kg commercial LPG cylinders.

The revised rates, effective immediately, reflect a reduction of Rs 1.50 per cylinder.

However, it’s important to note that this reduction applies specifically to commercial cylinders, with no change in the pricing of domestic LPG cylinders.

The common man, therefore, won’t see a direct impact on kitchen gas prices.

While this reduction brings a positive start to the year for commercial consumers.

It’s interesting to reminisce about 2019, another election year, when prices of 14.2 kg non-subsidized LPG cylinders saw a significant reduction on January 1.

However, the trend did not repeat itself in 2024.

Air Travel to Witness Price Drop:

In a further New Year’s gift, Oil Marketing Companies (OMC) have also slashed aviation fuel prices, marking the third consecutive reduction.

The reduction amounts to approximately Rs 4162.50 per kilo litre. With this move, airfares are expected to decrease, providing travelers with a cost-effective journey.

The new rates will take effect immediately.

Despite the fluctuating fuel prices, it’s important to note that aviation turbine fuel rates typically hover around Rs 1.10 lakh per kilo liter, with slight variations between different cities like Delhi and Mumbai.

Keep an eye out for potential reductions in air travel costs as the new rates come into play.
