Elon Musk’s Grok AI Launches in India: Access Details for Indian Users

Elon Musk’s xAI has expanded the availability of its generative AI-based chatbot, Grok AI, to India and 46 other nations, including Pakistan, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, and Singapore.

The announcement follows the recent introduction of Grok to X Premium+ subscribers in the United States.

Exclusive Access for X Premium+ Subscribers in India:

Indian users eager to engage with Grok AI must be X Premium+ subscribers, requiring a monthly subscription fee of ₹1,300 or an annual payment of ₹13,600.

About Grok AI:

In a November announcement, xAI described Grok as a chatbot designed to “answer questions with a bit of wit” and possessing a “rebellious streak.” Differentiating itself from other chatbots, Grok accesses real-time information from data collected by X and responds to questions that are typically rejected by other major AI chatbots.

Technical Specifications:

Grok is built on xAI’s proprietary large language model, Grok-0, boasting 33 billion parameters. According to xAI, Grok-0 can outperform ChatGPT, which is based on the GPT 3.5 language model (free version).

Controversies and Adjustments:

Following its rollout in the US, Grok AI faced controversies, particularly in its responses to questions about Elon Musk.

The chatbot’s “rebellious streak” became evident when it referred to Musk as a “delicate flower” and questioned his actions.

Responding to concerns about Grok’s political leanings, Musk assured users that his company was taking steps to make Grok politically neutral.
