First Vande Bharat Train Launch Date
Notably, the inaugural Vande Bharat Express, connecting New Delhi and Varanasi, was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on February 15, 2019.
These trains are manufactured at the Integral Coach Factory (ICF) in Chennai, demonstrating India’s ‘Make in India’ initiative and showcasing the nation’s engineering capabilities.
Swift Cleaning on all Vande Bharat Trains
Indian Railways recently introduced a groundbreaking concept on October 1.
It promises to clean Vande Bharat train carriages in just 14 minutes, taking inspiration from Japan’s efficient bullet train model, where cleaning takes merely seven minutes.
Vande Bharat’s Future Expansion Plans
Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav announced in a press conference in June that Vande Bharat trains would soon cover all states by the end of the month.
The ambitious goal is to connect 200 cities with the Vande Bharat train network by the middle of next year.
The production of these trains is progressing rapidly to meet this target.
