Apple and Tata Group have recently inked a significant agreement to manufacture iPhones in India.
This collaboration is expected to fulfill the demand for Made in India iPhones and potentially reduce the rising prices of these devices.
Tata is Fourth iPhone Assembler
Tata Group is set to become the fourth assembler of iPhones for Apple, alongside Foxconn, Lashkare, and Pegatron.
The conglomerate, known for its expertise in diverse industries ranging from steel to software, had previously acquired Taiwanese company Vistron Corp.
Now, Tata Group has received orders from Apple to manufacture the upcoming iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus models.
Advantages of Made in India iPhones
With the commencement of iPhone manufacturing in India through the Tata Group deal, several benefits are expected to arise.
Firstly, customers can anticipate faster delivery of the first batch of iPhone 15 devices.
Additionally, by producing iPhones locally, the tax burden on imported iPhones may be alleviated. Moreover, this move is likely to accelerate production and potentially lead to more affordable prices.
iPhone 15 Series Launch Date
Reports suggest that the iPhone 15 Series could be launched in September of this year. The series is expected to include models such as the iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max.
These devices are likely to be available for purchase at Apple’s recently inaugurated stores in Delhi’s Saket and Mumbai’s BKC retail locations.
