On February 15, 2019, the country witnessed the inauguration of its first Vande Bharat Express train.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off this train on the Delhi-Varanasi route.
Covering a distance of 771 kilometers, the journey from New Delhi to Varanasi provides immense convenience to travelers.
The train operates on all days except Monday and Thursday, offering fares of Rs 1,805 for AC chair car and Rs 3,355 for executive chair car.
New Delhi – Vaishno Devi Mata Katra Vande Bharat
Within just seven months of the introduction of the Delhi-Varanasi Vande Bharat Express, Delhi welcomed another Vande Bharat train.
This time, the train was launched from Delhi to Shri Vaishno Devi Mata Katra by the Home Minister Amit Shah on October 3, 2019.
The Vande Bharat Express covers a distance of 655 kilometers in eight hours.
It operates on all days except Tuesdays, offering fares of Rs. 1,545 for AC chair car and Rs. 2,805 for executive chair car.
Amb Andaura – New Delhi Vande Bharat Express
On October 13, 2022, the Amb Andaura – New Delhi Vande Bharat Express commenced its operations.
This train runs six days a week, excluding Fridays, covering a distance of 415 kilometers in 5 hours and 25 minutes.
The fares for this route are Rs 1,240 for AC chair car and Rs 2,240 for executive chair car.
Delhi-Bhopal Vande Bharat Express
April 1, 2023, marked a historic day for Madhya Pradesh as Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off the first Vande Bharat train in the state.
The train operates from Bhopal’s Rani Kamalapati station to Delhi’s Nizamuddin, passing through Jhansi, Gwalior, and Agra Cantt.
Covering a distance of 700 kilometers in seven and a half hours, the Delhi-Bhopal Vande Bharat Express offers fares of Rs 1,665 for AC chair car and Rs 3,120 for executive chair car.
Delhi-Jaipur-Ajmer Vande Bharat Express
Recently, on the 12th of last month, PM Modi inaugurated the Vande Bharat Express train connecting Delhi, Jaipur, and Ajmer.
The train operates from Ajmer to Delhi Cantt, covering the journey in 5 hours and 15 minutes.
The route includes Delhi Cantt, Gurugram, Alwar, Jaipur, and Ajmer. The fares for this train are Rs 1,250 for chair car and Rs 2,270 for executive chair car.
For Delhi to Jaipur, the fares are Rs. 880 for AC chair car and Rs. 1,650 for executive chair car.
Delhi to Dehradun Vande Bharat Express
Since the introduction of the Vande Bharat train, the journey between Delhi and Dehradun has become incredibly easy and comfortable.
With plans to start the Vande Bharat Express on this route soon, travelers will have convenient access to Uttarakhand’s religious and tourist destinations.
The approximate journey time between Delhi and Dehradun is 5 hours, covering a distance of approximately 315 kilometers.
Stoppage and Timings: Delhi to Dehradun Vande Bharat Express
The specific stations where the Vande Bharat Express will stop between Delhi and Dehradun are yet to be confirmed.
However, reports suggest that the train will pass through Uttar Pradesh before reaching Uttarakhand.
It is expected to have stoppages at Meerut, Muzaffarnagar, Roorkee, and Haridwar.
Upcoming Routes: Vande Bharat Train to Expand Its Network
The popularity of the Vande Bharat train has prompted the government to plan its operations on 31 more routes in the near future.
Soon, the Vande Bharat train will also run from Delhi to Kota, with plans underway for new routes to Khajuraho, Amritsar, and other cities.
To support the maintenance of these trains, the government has decided to establish nine depots across the country, including three in Delhi—Anand Vihar, Bijwasan, and Shakur Basti.

Vande Bharat has proven to be one of the fastest way of travel in recent times. Along with speed, it also offers comfort and convenience. So far there are 15 Vande Bharat running in India. Almost everyone has seen it either on tracks, station or news. There are more routes planned which will commence within next few months.
Many of this Vande Bharat either originate from New Delhi or pass through it. The first Vande Bharat was started on New Delhi to Varanasi route which goes packed even now.
