DA Hike 2026: Tripura has increased the Dearness Allowance for state government employees and pensioners by 3 percentage points, taking DA and Dearness Relief to 44%.

The revised rates will be effective from October 1, 2026.

The decision was announced after the Tripura government’s October 6 cabinet meeting.

Chief Minister Manik Saha said the increase would put an additional annual burden of around Rs 300 crore on the state government.

DA Hike 2026 Raises Allowance to 44%

With the latest 3% increase, state government employees will receive DA at 44% of basic pay.

Pensioners will also receive Dearness Relief at 44% of their revised basic pension from October 1.

This means the increased DA and DR will apply to the October 2026 salary and pension cycle.

The announcement comes ahead of the Durga Puja festive period.

HRA Also Increased for Government Employees

Along with the DA increase, Tripura has raised the House Rent Allowance for regular state government employees. HRA has been increased from 8% to 10% of basic pay.

The maximum monthly HRA limit has also been increased from Rs 3,000 to Rs 10,000.

This change means employees whose HRA was previously restricted by the old ceiling can receive a higher amount under the revised structure.

For example, an employee with a basic pay of Rs 30,000 would receive Rs 3,000 as HRA at the new 10% rate, compared with Rs 2,400 earlier.

What the DA Increase Means for Employees

The DA revision directly increases the allowance calculated on basic pay, while the HRA change increases the housing-related allowance for eligible regular employees.

The actual increase in an employee’s monthly salary will depend on their basic pay and applicable allowances.

The government said the DA and DR revision would add around Rs 300 crore to its annual expenditure.

The HRA revision will also add to the state’s financial commitments.

Tripura has had the 7th Pay Commission structure in place since 2018.

The state government has also indicated that it is examining the issue of the 8th Pay Commission while the Centre has begun its process.

The latest DA Hike 2026 therefore provides an immediate increase for eligible Tripura government employees and pensioners, with the revised DA and DR taking effect from October 1.
