For wheat, the government has listed the production cost at ₹1,264 per quintal and the expected margin over the all-India weighted average cost of production at 106%.

How MSP Is Linked to Production Cost

The government said the revised MSPs follow the Union Budget 2018-19 approach of fixing MSP at a level of at least 1.5 times the all-India weighted average cost of production.
