Heavy rain caused major disruption across Delhi-NCR on Monday, affecting both road traffic and flight operations.
At Delhi Airport, 14 flights were diverted, including two international flights, as bad weather affected operations.
Several airlines, including SpiceJet, also issued advisories asking passengers to check their flight status before leaving for the airport.
Heavy Rain Brings Delhi-NCR to a Standstill
Heavy showers lashed several parts of the capital, particularly South Delhi and nearby areas.
The rain led to slow-moving traffic and disruption on several roads.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) also issued a red alert for some districts, warning that more heavy rain could occur later in the day.
The weather department warned of thunderstorms, lightning and strong winds of around 30-40 km/h in several parts of Delhi.
These areas include South-East Delhi, East Delhi, Shahdara, Central Delhi, North-East Delhi, South Delhi, New Delhi, South-West Delhi, West Delhi, North-West Delhi and North Delhi.
Rain Alert Issued for Several States
The bad weather is not limited to Delhi-NCR. The IMD has also issued weather warnings for several other parts of the country.
Heavy rain and thunderstorms are expected in parts of Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Haryana, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Jammu and Kashmir, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh.
Several southern and western states, including Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Gujarat and Maharashtra, may also experience heavy rain.
Weather warnings have also been issued for several northeastern states.

With weather conditions affecting flight operations, passengers travelling from Delhi Airport should check their flight status before leaving for the airport.
The advisories from airlines are particularly important for passengers travelling during periods of heavy rain, as delays or diversions may occur depending on weather conditions.
