Waterways Leisure Tourism, the company that operates Cordelia Cruises, is in focus among investors after announcing a 1:10 stock split.

The company has fixed August 26 as the record date for the stock split.

The move will increase the number of shares while reducing the face value of each share.

On Tuesday, August 25, the stock was trading nearly flat at around Rs 104.20 per share on the BSE.

The company had a market capitalisation of around Rs 7,543.51 crore.

During the trading session, the stock touched a high of Rs 107.50 and a low of Rs 101.30.

Waterways Leisure Tourism Stock Split: What Will Change?

The company has approved a 1:10 stock split through a postal ballot.

Under the arrangement, every existing equity share with a face value of Rs 10 will be divided into 10 shares with a face value of Re 1 each.

In simple terms, if an investor currently holds 100 shares, those shares will become 1,000 shares after the stock split.

However, a stock split does not by itself increase the overall value of an investor’s holding. The face value and market price are adjusted according to the split ratio.

August 26 Is The Record Date

Waterways Leisure Tourism’s board has fixed Wednesday, August 26, 2026, as the record date for the stock split.

The record date is used to determine which shareholders are eligible for the corporate action.

The company said its paid-up share capital will remain unchanged at around Rs 72.395 crore.

However, the number of shares will increase significantly.

The total number of shares will rise from 7,23,94,543 shares of Rs 10 each to 72,39,45,430 shares of Re 1 each after the split.

Why Is The Company Splitting Its Shares?

A stock split can make shares more affordable for investors because the market price is adjusted after the split.

Waterways Leisure Tourism said the move is expected to make its shares more accessible to a wider investor base.

It may also encourage greater participation and improve liquidity in the secondary market.

Waterways Leisure Tourism Share Price Performance

The stock opened in positive territory on Tuesday and touched its 52-week high of Rs 107.50 on August 25, 2026.

On the other hand, its 52-week low stands at Rs 62.33, recorded on July 1, 2026.

The stock has also delivered a strong recent performance, with its share price rising around 29% in one month.

Investors should note that stock splits do not automatically create additional wealth. The number of shares increases, but the share price is adjusted accordingly.
