Students preparing for competitive exams have received a major announcement from Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Speaking during the 80th Independence Day celebrations at the Red Fort on Saturday, PM Modi said the government will provide free online coaching for competitive exams to reduce the financial burden on families.
He said expensive coaching classes put pressure on poor and middle-class families, and the new initiative aims to make quality exam preparation accessible to everyone.
Free Coaching to Reduce Education Costs
PM Modi said many parents feel they must send their children to coaching institutes because of social pressure. He added that this often forces families to spend large amounts of money.
According to the Prime Minister, free online coaching will allow students to prepare for exams without paying high coaching fees. He also said parents will be able to save money while keeping their children close to home.
He explained that the government will use India’s digital public infrastructure along with experienced teachers and experts to build a nationwide platform that offers free coaching for various competitive exams.
AI Training for 1 Crore Young People
PM Modi also announced a new plan to train 1 crore (10 million) young people in Artificial Intelligence (AI) skills over the next year.
He said the government wants to equip young Indians with future-ready skills and encourage them to play a bigger role in the country’s development.
He also urged the youth to actively participate in the ongoing census by providing accurate digital information about their families.
Independence Day Celebrations at Red Fort
This year’s Independence Day celebrations were dedicated to the 150th anniversary of ‘Vande Mataram.’ The national song was performed during the event at the Red Fort.
Around 5,000 special guests attended the celebrations, including women entrepreneurs, young innovators, farmers, beneficiaries of government schemes,
and people from different parts of the country. Cultural groups from several states and union territories also took part in the event.
