Mobile users usually have to accept whatever data format comes with their recharge plan.

But Vodafone Idea (Vi) is offering something different with its ₹249 prepaid plan.

The plan allows eligible users to choose between 0.5GB daily data or receiving the full 14GB data at once.

This could be useful for people who want to keep their SIM active at a low cost but do not want to deal with a fixed daily data limit.

How Does the Vi ₹249 Plan Work?

The ₹249 Vi prepaid plan comes with a validity of 28 days.

By default, users receive 0.5GB data per day.

Once the daily limit is exhausted, they may have to wait for the next day’s data or purchase an additional data pack.

However, Vi gives users the option to convert the data into a one-time 14GB data benefit.

This means you can use more data on the days when you need it instead of being restricted by a daily limit.

How to Get 14GB Data at Once

If you have recharged with the ₹249 plan and want the entire 14GB data as a lump sum, you need to use the specified USSD option.

Follow these steps:

Open the dialer on your phone.

Dial *188#.

Follow the options displayed on the screen.

Select the option for lump-sum data.

Complete the process to activate the one-time 14GB data benefit.

The option should be used immediately after completing the recharge, as the availability of the conversion option may be time-sensitive.

Vi Also Has a ₹250 Plan

Vi also offers a ₹250 prepaid plan with a validity of 28 days.

Unlike the ₹249 plan, this recharge does not offer a choice between daily and lump-sum data.

It includes:

2GB total data

Unlimited calling

100 SMS per day

28 days validity

28-day Spotify Premium subscription

The ₹250 plan may suit users who mainly want to keep their SIM active while also getting basic calling, SMS and data benefits.

Which Vi Plan Should You Choose?

The ₹249 plan may be more useful if you want flexibility in how you consume your data.

You can stick with the default 0.5GB daily limit or, where the option is available, convert it into 14GB of data at once.

The ₹250 plan, meanwhile, is aimed more at users looking for a low-cost recharge with calling, SMS, data and a short-term Spotify Premium benefit.

Before recharging, users should check the latest terms and availability in the Vi app or through Vi’s official channels, as prepaid benefits and eligibility can change.
