Getting Aadhaar-related services at post offices in Agra is now more convenient.
The Postal Department has introduced a cashless payment facility at Aadhaar Seva Kendras, allowing people to pay their Aadhaar service fees digitally.
Customers can now use UPI, QR codes, debit cards and credit cards to make payments instead of carrying cash.
Digital Payments Available at Aadhaar Seva Kendras
The new facility has been introduced at the Aadhaar Seva Kendra at Pratappur Head Post Office.
It will also be made available at Aadhaar Seva Kendras operating from other post offices.
According to Head Postmaster Shashikant Jain, cashless payment was not available earlier at these post offices.
The new system is expected to make the payment process easier and reduce the hassle of carrying cash.
People can simply use their mobile phones or cards to complete the payment.
The transactions will also be recorded digitally, and customers will receive payment receipts.
Aadhaar Services That Are Free
Not every Aadhaar service requires a payment. New Aadhaar enrolment is completely free.
Mandatory biometric updates for children in the 5–7 years and 15–17 years age groups are also free of charge.
For other services, the applicable fees are:
Demographic update: ₹75
Biometric update: ₹125
New Aadhaar enrolment: Free
Mandatory biometric update for eligible children: Free
The introduction of digital payments is expected to make Aadhaar-related services at post offices faster, easier and more transparent for residents.
